Cancellation Policy

Understanding how cancellations work with Fareobuddy

Overview

If you need to cancel your booking because of an unexpected change of plans, you can do so with Fareobuddy either via our website or by calling and talking with one of our customer service representatives. It's goal is to make the ticket refund process as clear and simple as possible.

Cancelling a Booking

When you cancel your travel booking on the Fareobuddy website or by phone with a customer service representative, we will ask you to provide us or verify your booking information. When you submit your request to cancel a reservation with us, we will process your request in accordance with the policies set forth by the airline relative to cancelling the reservation.

Cancellation Fees

The Cancellation Fees you may incur for cancelling your travel booking vary depending on the airline you have booked with, the route you have booked and the type of ticket purchased. Some tickets will incur significant cancellation fees if cancelled, while other tickets may allow for cancellation with little or no cancellation fees. Fareobuddy does not have any control over the amount of cancellation fees that may be charged, but we will advise users of their cancellation fees when they make their bookings.

Free Cancellation

Most travel bookings will have a Free Cancellation Period that usually occurs shortly after booking. If the user decides to cancel during the Free Cancellation Period, he/she will not incur any penalties. Free Cancellation Periods vary, and therefore, the user should read the Free Cancellation Period at the time of booking.

Emergency Cancellations

In the case of an emergency, for example, but not limited to medical issues, etc., we ask the user to call us at that time as there are airline policies that also apply, but Fareobuddy will attempt to help as much as possible and will assist in trying to also give you the best alternative.

Role of Fareobuddy

The relationship between Fareobuddy and the user is that Fareobuddy is acting as a third-party intermediary between you and the airline, hence whenever you cancel your ticket, we are assisting you in your cancellation request and in working through to find the best solution possible. The airline has the final say as to what fees are applicable to cancellation requests and their eligibility under their cancellation policy.

Cancellation Refunds

If you cancel a ticket which was purchased as a refundable fare that meets the airline's criteria for refunds, you will receive a refund according to the refund policy of that airline. You should also be mindful that depending upon the airline's refund process, your refund can take time to complete and refunds are subject to adjustment by the airline.
